What We've Grown Together in 2025—And what's planned for you in 2026

My mission has always been simple: to share Mush Love. At the heart of this is helping people understand the central role of mushrooms and fungi in nature, and offering opportunities for you to learn, create, grow, and connect with a vibrant community of fungi-curious people. Urban Mushrooms London has, at its core, both a social and environmental mission.

But the vision goes further. I want to help build a sustainable, local circular food economy, where people from all walks of life can bring mushrooms into their homes, their meals and their wellbeing routines. As many of you know, mushrooms offer incredible benefits for physical and mental health - and growing them in a city, especially on waste materials, is not only affordable and fun but great for the planet too.

If you'd like to explore how this mission has unfolded, you can read more in my earlier blog, 'Mush Love in Action: Growing a Mushroom Movement in South London'.

I'm also proud (and very grateful!) to share that Urban Mushrooms now has over 80 five-star Google reviews. If you want to support a local non-profit social enterprise with your sustainable Christmas gifts this year - especially for the mushroom lovers in your life - read on.

What Adi's Urban Mushrooms Has Achieved in 2025

Learning, Growing and Building Community

This year, I've delivered 28 mushroom cultivation workshops and 11 guided foraging walks, with a total of 517 participants. Together we've explored how fungi form networks with plants and other organisms, supporting ecosystems and helping natural habitats adapt to challenges such as climate change.

Growing Workshops: Workshop attendees have also learned how to grow delicious oyster mushrooms and functional mushrooms that support wellbeing. One community garden group has even kept growing mushrooms ever since our session - a huge joy to see.

Guided Foraging Walks: Participants joining my beginner and advanced-beginner foraging courses in London have learned how to identify edible mushrooms, understand tree-fungi relationships, and respect the forest while sustainably harvesting wild mushrooms. As one participant said: "It was truly wonderful and I will definitely be joining another walk with Adi soon".

These workshops and walks represent far more than just learning sessions. They're opportunities to connect with like-minded people, to step away from the busy urban environment, and to deepen our relationship with the natural world.

Growing Fresh Mushrooms and Building a Supply

I've expanded mushroom production at The Remakery, growing fresh oyster and lion's mane mushrooms that have been enjoyed at farmers' markets across South London. The Remakery community has been wonderfully supportive and collaborative - the space itself feels alive with possibility and community energy.

Mushroom Tinctures and Functional Food

This year I've also crafted small-batch mushroom tinctures using locally grown Lion's Mane and other functional mushrooms. These functional foods offer genuine support for mental clarity and immune health. Every batch is made with care and intention.

Growing Together

What truly excites me is seeing the ripple effect of my work in the community. People are growing their own mushrooms at home. Community gardens are integrating mushroom cultivation into their spaces. Conversations about fungi, food, and wellbeing are happening in places I never expected.

What's Planned for You in 2026

Expanded Workshops and Foraging Walks

I'm planning to increase the number of guided foraging walks and mushroom cultivation workshops, bringing these experiences to even more people. I'm also exploring workshops in different locations, making these opportunities more accessible.

New Products and Services

I'm developing new mushroom-based products that reflect what the community has asked for - including new tincture recipes and different types of grow kits designed for specific growing conditions and preferences.

Building Networks

My vision is to develop networks of mushroom growers and foragers across South London. Imagine a community where knowledge is shared freely, where people support each other's growing experiments, and where the benefits of mushroom cultivation are enjoyed by all.

The Bigger Picture

Ultimately, I want to continue demonstrating that it's possible to build a thriving business that prioritizes community and environmental wellbeing over profit margins. Every workshop, every jar of tincture, every grow kit is an opportunity to spread Mush Love.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you've attended a workshop, bought a grow kit, foraged with me, or simply engaged with this community - you're part of something special.

Here's to growing together in 2026.
