A day in the woods for all ages
Children are natural foragers - low to the ground, sharp-eyed, and delighted by things adults walk past. The family walk is built around that. The pace is relaxed, the finds are shared, and nobody is rushed past the interesting rotten log.
What children get out of it
A real skill, taught honestly: this one is safe, this one is not, and here is how we tell. Children handle that seriousness beautifully - often better than adults - and they leave with a relationship to the woods that a screen cannot give them. Everyone in the family learns the same identification habits, so it becomes something you can do together, every autumn.
Practical details
The walk is slower and a little shorter than the standard walks, on the same gentle woodland ground. Bring waterproofs and snacks; hand lenses are provided and children get first look. Half-term family walks are listed in the same booking collection when they run.

What ages does the family walk suit?
Roughly school age and up works best - old enough to walk the wood and enjoy looking closely. If you are unsure about a younger child, ask Adi before booking.
Do adults need any experience?
None. The walk teaches the whole family from scratch, together.
